CASA MARTELLI

Just steps from the Piazza del Duomo, Palazzo Martelli may be found on the ancient Via della Forca. In 1738, the Palazzo underwent an array of renovations on behalf of Niccolò and Giuseppe Maria Martelli, the archbishop of Florence.
The restructured rooms throughout the Palazzo, which are fashioned according to the tastes of the period, create a circular path that provides visitors with a more enjoyable interaction with the rare seventeenth and eighteenth-century Florentine collection. Now displayed publically, the collection is comprised of rich masterpieces including the Adoration of the Child by Piero di Cosimo, two wedding panels by Beccafumi, magnificent paintings by Luca Giordano and Salvator Rosa, and, additional furnishings, upholsteries, and various antique ornamentations dispersed throughout the home.
